I am a teacher

Perfection is attainable

People often ask me why I became a teacher, was it by choice or just a matter of chance. Well honestly speaking I never thought I would land up being a teacher. Yes, It was a matter of choice, but not mine,my mom's . My mom wanted me to take up this profession as it is noble . But I never regretted this decision. Day after day my love for this profession has increased only. My friends often ask me what do I being a teacher. They tell me life in corporate offices is much better. It is full of fun and glamour. I answer their query with a smile and tell them that here I get lot of love and affection, respect and endless joy. I feel elated when my students smile back at me every time I meet them during the day. They are always bubbling with energy. Whenever I enter the classroom they give me positivity and keep me cheerful throughout the day. Where else would I get so much of happiness and joy. Meeting them daily is like a stress buster. I not only teach them, but I learn new things from them everyday. These little stars always teach me to be happy and carefree, no matter what the situation is.
I still remember my first day of work , when I was too young and unripe (inexperienced), the students of my class (VII A) gave their new class teacher a very warm welcome. Each of them tried to impress me as they wanted to become the monitor of the class. It was so sweet. Right from that point till date life has been memorable. I still remember all the sweet moments; right from preparing them for house competitions to winning prizes, preparing them for exams to achieving good results, having fun time in he free periods to working hard in the exams, all has been so enjoyable. I cherish all the good times. My old students are still in contact with me, they still call me or message me to wish me for teacher's day. I thank God for his blessings and this unconditional love by my students. I am still young and have to learn many more things in the coming years. I would like to conclude my with these lines from my self composed poem.

I am a teacher

A guide and a facilitator

My life is much more than chalk and duster

set of books and attendance register

I work with young scholars everyday

whose minds are soft like wet clay

To shape it well is a challenge

These little stars are full of talent.

Daily I'm welcomed among laughter and chatters

they  seek my advice in all the matters.

We work together to achieve perfection

In return I get their love and affection.

Thank you God for choosing me for this profession

Where daily I get satisfaction and experience elation.
